Pool Desk Attendant

Position Title: Pool Desk Attendant

Pay Rate: $10.00/hour

Job Type: Seasonal, May through August

Reports to: Programs and Aquatics Coordinator


Job Description: Southern Pines Parks & Recreation Department is accepting applications for a Pool Desk Attendant. We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy pool attendant to look after our guests and manage the front entrance desk. In this role, you will be required to welcome and attend to our guests, collect entrance fees, enforce safety rules, and keep the facility clean.

To be a successful pool attendant, you will need to have excellent customer service skills, be highly organized, be able to handle money safely, be friendly, and be able to assist swimmers in danger when necessary.

Primary duties include:

  • Greet all attendees, collect entrance fees, and maintain accurate daily record keeping.
  • Enforce safety regulations.
  • Ensure the restrooms and entrance desk is clean and free from debris.
  • Assist lifeguarding staff in case of an emergency
  • Provide excellent customer service consistent with operating procedures; try to resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure participant satisfaction.
  • Identify and report hazards within the pool area, notify supervisors immediately of hazards, injuries, equipment or processes that negatively affect the operations.
  • Simple record keeping involving money
  • An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures
  • Leadership and public relations skills
  • Decision-making skills

Weekday and weekend work schedules.

Pay rate: $10/hr.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 16 years or older
  • Preferred CPR and First Aid Certified
